Take a Risk

10:2 - Take A Risk

“Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”

- William Carey, Father of Modern Missions

There are endless stories in God’s Word about brave men and women who took a risk and changed history. Shadrach, Meshac, and Abendego refused the will of an emperor. Esther faced an enemy and risked her life to save her people. Noah listened to God and built a boat - which ended up saving the human race. The disciples followed a middle eastern nobody named Jesus, and gave their lives as martyrs.

Every great story involves risk. Every great movement of God begins with prayer and is followed by individuals and churches willing to take a risk. For far too long, we have allowed fear to control our actions. We’ve wondered if we’d lose friendships, if we’d look foolish for not knowing the answers to all the questions, if we’d be canceled for holding to the truth and authority of God’s Word, or if we’d be ridiculed for actually believing that Jesus died and rose from death.

Every person you want to see become a follower of Jesus needs someone to take a risk and share their faith. Maybe someone is praying for you to take a risk for their son, their sister, their daughter, or their friend. The gospel moves forward when people are willing to take a risk. Let’s not just talk about the gospel; let’s BE about the gospel!
